"Female DJ’s aren’t exactly a common sight in Northern Ireland or throughout the UK for that matter, so Mandy Reid stands out among the crowd. With her own style of uplifting progressive house she knows how to work the crowd and her genuine passion for music can be felt on the dance floor. For Mandy it all started about 5 years ago when she bought her first set of Technics and set about perfecting the art of mixing. Her first residency came through local DJ / Promoter, Eddie Wray at Xquisite (Chester’s Nightclub, Moira) where radio and club DJ Mark Wesley heard her play and was so impressed he offered her the opportunity to play a 1 hour live set on his weekly Cool FM dance show. Exposed to a larger audience, Mandy’s popularity continued to grow and resulted in her second residency at the Coach, Banbridge every Wednesday night alongside Mark Wesley which started in August 1997 and continues. Each step of the way Mandy gained support through newspaper, magazine and radio publicity — not to mention word of mouth, and in June 1998 was approached by THE MET to play a trial night. Her natural ability and undisputable talent shone through, and her residency at The MET began."
