It doesn't matter what Derrick plays but he is responsible to bring us the music we are waiting for...

He could play whatever...It will be good because the music is respected & recreate by the way.

We all have to learn from that.

I disagree. A DJ should be teaching. But he plays the same tracks for over 2 years now. "1 new record per month DJ's" like Derrick May and Sven Väth are jst jukeboxes and in no way innovative.

Don't you think they work hard enough ?

The level of mixing is high at my eyes & I listen to electronic since age of 14...I'm 31

I don't talk about sven väth but don't you think quality is important ?

I mean derrick bring us the best of music not only electronic for me

anyway we can think different we are free

15:58, 30 April 2010 (CEST)
agreed, but you ignore my main point: playing the same tracks for ages. it's just lame.

Yes I see...But I've never been desapointed by derrick in club or festival...After the same tracks as an Identity when you work he always play other stuff for people like us who need direction.

We listen a lot of stuff & we recognize good music because of a little experience.

Imagine how it's heavy for those dj to keep people connected to quality & satisfy most part of us.

That's experience & if they are still asked today it's because they adapt.

As moodyman says : it's not what you do it's how you do.

Thanx for your site MDB, it's good to argue on it.

When I said before music is recreate it's the same tracks creating a new music different in every set.Too many dj's have just method not talent...& that's killing the scene

11.that's close to runaway from pal joey....

21:15, 1 May 2010 (CEST)
Sure, everone can easily download the freshest tracks from mp3 shops these days. But that isn't a bad thing at all. Anyway, I think we won't agree with each other here, but as you mentioned, that's ok too ;)

Whatever if music is good...relief & mix of it is important also

I'm totaly agree with lakovo

In electronic music you have people who made records and people who plays records...

Derrick can't be placed in one of this 2 parts

Like Garnier "He makes records in playing records...."

You can directly recognize one of his mixes

I would say also that Derrick just doesn't mix...He use to dance first, then his hands touch the mix table, & we hear rithm & melody...That's a way to communicate.

Comparing scen vath to D May........ Wake up to yourself. Sven is a rubbish hands in the air dj - Derrick is a REAL DJ.
