It seems odd that the population readily believes coincidence to be nothing more than an unconscious stream of reoccurring accidents. What if however, instead of accepting chance as a chaotic external factor, we considered the alternative - that events are always conscious and come from pre-conceived intuition rather than the cruel collision of various causes.
Imagine a new way of living which operates by surrendering to the source of every possible outcome without any knowledge or preference of the means. Perhaps the weight of decision making, constantly reviewing conversations and frantically planning actions could be lifted giving us a system with far less resistance.
This month, along with a different day and time from our usual schedule, we also have a guest mix curated in a very unfamiliar manner. The electronic music and visual art group Farmers Manual have kindly given us a mixtape of music where factors were deliberately left outwith their control:
"The mix is generated by a track[n].end-to-track[n+1].start matching algorithm. The input files are taken from a precompiled list of some of our favourites, the first track is chosen at random, then the sequence unfolds."
Thanks to Farmers Manual we a guest mix created in such a way which (by chance?) relates to our recent contemplation of coincidence as a positive force of creation.
