User Registration
Definitely register your own user account when you want to contribute. Otherwise your IP will be shown on all actions and you can't make use of the user features as described below.
With your own account, google ads are removed, you can set your own user preferences, e.g. set your time zone or costumize your search result view, etc.
E-Mail Authentication
To edit pages it is required to confirm your E-mail address. When you entered your E-mail adress on the registration form, such an E-mail was sent to you, if not you can add it in your preferences.
Profile pages
After registration your user page reads a default message. To change it you must be able to edit pages (see E-mail authentication above.)
You're completely free what you create on your profile page with the normal Editing & Formatting options.
As an example see User:MDB. You can copy the layout from any other user profile or any page on MixesDB by copy-pasting and tweaking it for your own needs. Only you are able to edit your profile page.
About the bar on every use page: You can't remove it from your own user page. But no worries, only logged in users with an authentified e-amil address can send you a PM or e-mail. Your E-mail address will not be visible to anyone unless you reply to mail sent to you by another user.
Watchlist
On top of every page is a [watch] link (when logged in). By clicking it the page will be added to your watchlist.
With having a mix in your watchlist you will be notified per E-mail whenever the page is edited or a comment is posted.
This is can be useful if you want a tracklist for this mix or if you have an Sample ID added.
You can enable E-mail notifcation in your preferences, so whenever a mix page in your watchlist is changed you'll be informed via e-mail. See it like RSS notification.
Deleting your Account
You can't delete your account yourself, just send MDB a PM.
